What is now the Tennessee Screenwriting Association began meeting in 1987 and was chartered in 1988 as a 501(c)3 non-profit, educational organization. The TSA is governed by Bylaws and a volunteer Board of Directors.
TSA's mission is to:
-
Promote the art and craft of screenwriting.
-
Support the screenwriter in the application of his/her skills.
-
Provide a pipeline for information and opportunities to network with other writers and film industry professionals.
Tennessee Screenwriting Association is a membership organization. Dues are unchanged since 1988... $25 annually.

The Tennessee Screenwriting Association was proud to organize the 2024 Script-Com Screenwriters Conference in Nashville.
Over 100 screenwriters, producers, directors, and other cinematic storytellers spent a weekend studying the craft of screenwriting, learning about the challenges and opportunities across the TV & film industry, and meeting other writers and filmmakers. Keynote speaker Alvaro Rodriguez (Machete, American Rust) was part of a faculty of instructors working or teaching in the industry who brought their knowledge and advice to the table. The conference ended with a two-hour film festival of shorts created by members of the TSA.
Thanks to all who attended and the volunteers and co-sponsors who helped make Script-Com the biggest and best screenwriters conference in the South!
